I was lucky enough to meet Stephen in person last year at the first Diabetes UnConference in Las Vegas, and ever since then I have been following his awesome work! I just saw him again last week at the second UnConference where he was a facilitator, and I can’t say enough about how kind, genuine and caring he is. He is a major asset to our DOC!
Stephen has been living with Type 1 diabetes since 1991. Since April 2012, he has been writer of the diabetes blog Happy Medium.
In November 2013, he began awarding medals to people living with diabetes who achieved their athletic goals. In November 2014, he spoke before the U.S. Food and Drug Administration during a public workshop on interoperability between diabetes devices.
Most recently, he started the podcast Diabetes By The Numbers, speaking with diabetes news-makers of the day. He is a part time moderator of the popular weekly #DSMA Twitter chats, and encourages others by staying true to the phrase “I support you… no conditions”.
