Journaling Challenge!

Have you ever practiced self-care by journaling?

As someone who has gone from obese and depressed with an eating disorder, to a genuinely healthy athlete with type 1 diabetes, I can tell you without a doubt that finally choosing to nurture my mental and emotional health as a top priority in my life absolutely not only changed my physical body for the better, it changed my mindset and spirituality for the better as well.

Choosing to be mindful and PRIORITIZING how I care for my emotional health is so incredibly empowering, and allows me to feel much more confident in my day to day diabetes management decisions.

The act of journaling, getting all the stuff that is circling around in your head OUT onto paper, is by far one of the most effective practices of self-care regarding emotional health that I’ve ever experienced, both with myself and countless clients over the years.

In this short video, we are focusing on why journaling is so therapeutic, and how to get started without getting in your own way!

Challenge Action Items:

1. Choose to give yourself the gift of mental/emotional self-love and self-care today by committing to journaling ONE time this week. Pick the parameters that suit you, such as “I will journal for X amount of minutes OR X amount of pages one or more times this week,” and schedule it in your calendar! Don’t get caught up in the details and let go of all expectations… JUST LET IT OUT!

2. Comment below and share how many minutes or pages you journaled this week! The more you share, the more you are helping and encouraging other people to step out of their comfort zones and give themselves the gift of self-love.
