This week’s interview was the first of what I hope to be many to follow…a chat with Kate Cornell, an amazing person thriving with type 2 diabetes! Kate was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in June of 2005, and back then she really didn’t know what to expect. She began blogging in 2011 at Kate’s Sweet Success (link below) as a way to sort out her thoughts about her diabetes since she loves writing. Kate shares her story of diagnosis, and how she gradually changed the foods she ate in order to reflect the blood sugar levels she wanted to see. We also chat about guilt related to food, as well as when we don’t see the blood sugars we want even when we think we did everything right!
Kate also writes on a collaborative blog called The Type Two Experience along with 5 other type 2 bloggers. Over the years she has written articles for several diabetes websites and currently writes for Type2Diabetes.com. Not only does Kate kick butt at managing her diabetes choices, but she is an incredibly kind-hearted, logical, genuine human being who was a real pleasure to interview 🙂
