Daniele Hargenrader Interviews Kerri Sparling – Unleash Your Inner Diabetes Dominator

kerri sparling
What can I say about interviewing Kerri Sparling? She is an absolute superstar! Not only is she very real and down to earth, but she has a wicked sense of humor as well. Her outlook on living with diabetes is one that we can all take lessons from, especially the benefits of always maintaining a basal rate of levity 🙂 She shares her story of diagnosis, her struggles and triumphs, and we even talk about sex and diabetes, something the both of us agree doesn’t get talked about nearly enough! Kerri also wrote an awesome book “Balancing Diabetes” that is an inspirational must-read.

Kerri has been blogging in the #doc for 10 years at her wildly popular site, sixuntilme.com which she first started because she was tired of Googling “diabetes” and coming up with little more than a list of complications and frightening stories. She wanted to find all the people who were living with this disease like she had been since she was a little girl, and to find out if she was the only person with diabetes out there who felt alone, something that I think every single one of us has dealt with throughout our diabetes journeys. Thanks to trailblazers like Kerri, our diabetes online community is thriving and growing bigger by the day, proving that none of us with diabetes is ever alone as long as we are willing to reach out into cyberspace and ask for a helping hand.
