Exercise Myths Busted

I just wanted to share some quick info and tips about exercise to bust some myths and dare I say…excuses? There is a ton of information out there about exercise. When to do it, how much, what type, etc., etc., etc. All of this information can send us into overload, and that can cause us to do nothing at all because we are so worried that what we are doing isn’t “right.”

Let’s get past this together and understand and embrace that any and all exercise is and will always be better than no exercise! Release those endorphins, reduce your stress levels, and enjoy your exercise “high!”

1. There is no “best time” to work out. The best time to exercise is when you can commit it into your schedule, period. Don’t wait until you can fit working out into a specific time of day, start now and get it in where you can fit it in!

2. The amount of time you spend on a workout is not a deciding factor on whether your workout is “good enough.” Every single minute, whether it’s 5, 10, 15, 20, or 45 minutes, counts. All minutes spent exercising are better than none, period. Some movement is better than no movement EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

3. To say that you don’t have time to work out is a BS excuse 99.9% of the time. If you watch just one 20 minute TV show per day, or spend more than 10-15 minutes surfing the web (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, email, etc.) then you absolutely do have time to work out, you are simply CHOOSING to spend that time on a lower priority task. Be honest with yourself, that is the root of all change!
